A chemist in science and Latvian National Guard
We are proud to share that largest Latvian language national daily newspaper Diena on 07/02/2025 published an article about one of our project partners – PhD Mikelis Kirpluks from Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry.
In the article Mikelis shares how he well in love with chemistry field, his current research topics from rigid polyurethane foams to POLYMERS-5B and bio-based vitrimers Mikelis and his team will be developing. Mikelis also highlights the challenges of inconsistent and inconsistent funding Latvian scientists are faced with.
Chemistry truly is Mikelis calling as he is not only a chemist in his work life, but he has joined Chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense company of Latvian National Guard. Service in Latvian National Guard not only fives personal fulfillments but also is a great way how to restart and clear the head from busy work days.
