Accelerating Innovation in Bio-based Polymers
We announce the launch of the BIOPOLY Cluster, the new collaboration between three pioneering CBE-JU-funded projects — POLYMEER, BIOPYRANIA, and POLYMERS-5B — all dedicated to advancing innovation in sustainable, bio-based polymers.
To mark this milestone, the BIOPOLY Cluster will host its official launch webinar,
“Introducing the BIOPOLY Cluster: Accelerating Innovation in Bio-based Polymers”,
on 6 November 2025, from 11:00 to 12:30 CET (online).
During the webinar, representatives from the three projects will present their approaches to developing high-performance, renewable polymer solutions from diverse feedstocks such as brewers’ spent grain, agri-food residues, and woody biomass. The event will also feature a panel discussion on “Bio-based Polymers in a Circular Future”, exploring opportunities and challenges for scaling up innovation in the bioeconomy.

The session will open with a welcome address by Simone Maccaferri (POLYMERS-5B project) and Bahar Koyuncu (CBE JU).
