POLYMERS-5B General Assembly: a milestone towards Sustainable Innovation | 4-5.06.2025
On June 4–5, 2025, the POLYMERS-5B consortium gathered at EURECAT (Barcelona) for the project’s General Assembly, marking a significant step forward in our shared efforts to develop sustainable, safe, and circular polymer-based materials.
The two-day meeting brought together all project partners to evaluate progress, strengthen collaboration, and coordinate the upcoming phases of the project. The sessions highlighted the consortium’s commitment to addressing key technical and societal challenges through innovation and cooperation.
Two thematic workshops served as central pillars of the assembly:
- Day 1: Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) & Circularity Assessment
Led by David Sanchez Domene (EURECAT), this workshop focused on strategies to embed sustainability and safety considerations from the earliest design stages. The session also explored robust approaches for evaluating circularity, sparking active discussion across disciplines. - Day 2: Finalising Characteristics and Dependencies of Key Exploitable Results (KERs)
Facilitated by Andrea Jester (RTDS), this session aimed at consolidating the project’s Key Exploitable Results, identifying their core features and interdependencies to maximise future impact and uptake.
The assembly reaffirmed the strength of collaboration within POLYMERS-5B and set a clear direction for the months ahead. Partners left with a shared vision and renewed momentum to deliver on the project’s objectives.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to advance toward safe, sustainable, and circular polymer innovations.
