POLYMERS-5B at Researchers’ Night | 26.09.2025
On 26 September 2025, POLYMERS-5B joined the European Researchers’ Night, an event dedicated to making science accessible and fun for everyone. Representing the project was PhD Mikelis Kirpluks from the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry, who delighted visitors with hands-on foam experiments.
Mikelis demonstrated how biobased materials are transformed into foams, offering a playful yet educational experience that helped demystify the science behind sustainable plastics. His participation not only showcased the innovative work within POLYMERS-5B but also contributed to popularising science among the general public.
Through activities like this, POLYMERS-5B aims to make a social impact by encouraging people to choose environmentally friendly biobased plastics and reduce their reliance on fossil-based products. The event highlighted the project’s core message: educating the public about science while raising awareness of the benefits of bio-based materials for a more sustainable future.
